For years now, there have been a few tracks worn across our garden, where something was pushing under the hedgerow and the fence on the opposite side. I never paid much attention to them until I was offered the loan of a trail cam but immediately I was getting clips of both foxes and badgers. I’ve often wondered why we never see hedgehogs; the reason it seems is the badgers. They are the main predators of hedgehogs. Anyway, I’ve tried to take pictures by leaving peanuts and eggs in their path to tempt them. I still haven’t got a decent still of a badger as their schedule isn’t regular and I’m not patient enough to wait around for hours.
This image was taken when I left an egg by the pond. Surprisingly, the foxes pick them up eggs with tremendous delicacy before taking them off for eating.
